Multilingual Playgroup Report (June 11, 2012) / 6月11日多言語子育てひろばを開催しました

On June 11, 2012, the Multilingual Playgroup was held at Hokkori Heart Demach.
28 people from Indonesia and Japan participated.
We did…. *Free play time.
*Singing time "Hello to All the Children of the World"
*Information exchange "Share your travel stories〜Tell us about your travel experiences〜”
*Counting from one to ten in Italian
*Story time "The Bakery in the Woods" (Morino pan ya san) in Fukui dialect.

We sang our theme song, "Hello to All the Children of the World" at the opening. The lyrics of this song contain "Hello" in 9 languages.

Then we talked about travel experiences. On a large sheet of the world map, we placed small stickers at places we've visited. The stickers covered the entire map! South Korea was the top destination, Europe was everyone's favorite path and the U.S. was also quite popular. We even found dots on Ethiopia, Chili, and Brazil! Travel story is always everyone's favorite topic.

And we learned how to count from one to ten in Italian from one of our participants. At picture book reading time, we read a Japanese story, "The Bakery in the Woods"(もりのパンやさん) in Fukui-ben (Fukui dialect). It was a heartwarming story with rhythmical words.

Our next gathering is on Monday, July 9, 2012.

はじまりはいつものテーマソング、「Hello to all the Children of the World」をみんなで歌いました。歌詞に8カ国語での「こんにちは」が入っています。
