Multilingual Playgroup Report (May 13, 2013) / 5月13日多言語子育てひろばを開催しました

On May 13, 2013, Jafore's Multilingual Playgroup was held at Hokkori Heart Demachi. 31 people from Indonesia, Israel, America and Japan participated.

We sang our theme song, "Hello to All the Children of the World" at the opening. The lyrics of this song contains "Hello" in nine languages. In free talk time we had a “Japanese culture experience” class and learned how to use Furoshiki, a type of traditional Japanese wrapping cloth that were frequently used to transport clothes, gifts, or other goods. It means "bath spread", derives from the Edo period practice of using them to bundle clothes while at the sento (public baths). Mamusubi is the basic tie. And then we shaped a cloth to hand bags or bottle holders.
In Counting time, we counted from 1 to 10 in Hebrew following Danit-san from Israel.

In Story time, Aulia-san from Indonesia read a story "Whoever You Are" in English. Whoever you are, you speak a different language or you have a different color of skin, you might feel like as others feel.

The next multilingual playgroup will be held on Monday, June 10th, at Hokkori Heart Demachi. We look forward to seeing you again.

まずは、恒例のテーマソング“Hello to all the Children of the World”を歌いました。
